Weather in the World



Peoples freeze and starve and drown.
Flood, fire, plague and war,
hail of bullets, bombs rain down,
families, forests under fire,
swallowing millions.

Arctic ice floes melt
spring flowers in the snow,
poles of difference
flattening paradise.

Hell on earth
of people running for their lives.
Mountains move, earth cracks apart,
Tsunami, hurricane,
exploding in our face.


While here in Devon
frost on roses, poisoned bees,
floodwaters meet the rising tide,
winds of change rip through the land,
repel, collide and cannot hold.


As our world implodes
I have daffodils,
And Major Tom escapes to space
